Field Edges

Field Edges ~ Watercolour on Hot Pressed Paper

Now that the trees are back in leaf, I love the dark shadows dotted with colour you get at the field edges. Often, a break in the hedgerow allows a shaft of light to illuminate the grasses and wildflowers.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone. The sun is going to shine ... apparently!

Jean, thankyou. The late spring / early summer is lovely to paint isn't it?

Thanks Jane. I do enjoy painting these little nature cameos. I hope your beautiful Italian sunshine shows up this weekend :)

Yes, we saw Hockney's exhibition in London. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Being from England you'd connect easily with the imageary! The paintings are so huge and they do have that 'wow' imapct when you walk into the gallery don't they?
