Wow, Theresa what a beautiful painting it has a luminous quality. I am wondering if you used transparent watercolours for this.

Marja, thankyou .... the gold colours of sunset are special!

Mario, thankyou for visiting my blog and for your coments. The Peak District is the area I live and is about 100 miles from the Lake District.... it's an easy destination for a day out!

Hi Caroline ... yes, it's trasparent watercolour but I built up several layers of washes ... four or five in some areas. A bit overworked to be honest but wanted to 'push' the colours. I'm using it as a starting point for a larger painting in mixed media.

Thanks for your comment :)
